Several years ago, the UK Ministry of Defense declassified national archives related to a ‘seventh batch’ of UFO documentation.
Notably, one of these files contains an article published on September 15, 1998, in the Weekly World News, Volume 19, superscript 51.
The article narrates how NASA would detect and decipher an alleged distress signal from another civilization outside our galaxy, on a planet facing imminent doom.
As per the article, the signal was detected in January 1998, but it took several months for experts to unravel its meaning.
“NASA experts claim to have intercepted an intergalactic distress call from an extraterrestrial civilization that had already peaked and was truly dying when saber-toothed tigers still roamed the Earth.”
“But only in recent weeks (the article continues), radio astronomers and experts found the key to understanding the complex mathematics-based language, allowing them to translate this desperate plea for help, according to a high-ranking NASA source in Houston,” noted Russian space scientist Viktor Kulakov, who leads a United Nations research team at an observatory operated by the state 50 miles northwest of Moscow.
Dr. Kulakov said the signal emanated from a point beyond our galaxy, possibly from Andromeda, with an approximate age of 80,000 years, sent by beings who had apparently achieved a more advanced civilization than ours on Earth.
“The fact that we have received and decoded the message proves beyond any doubt that the knowledge and technology of that civilization were better than what we have on our planet today,” explained the doctor.
“While they had many years of evolution ahead of us, I can say with certainty that the death of their civilization was not the result of a cosmic catastrophe. It was the result of the civilization collapsing upon itself, possibly due to the devastating use of some form of nuclear weaponry.”
Dr. Kulakov vehemently refused to provide any transcription key but did say that it began with a statement of guilt, followed by the plea for help and then provided location data, with the exact position of the doomed planet.
“There was a very lucid account of their apocalyptic devastation, hellish explosions, widespread death, and terminal diseases,” Kulakov asserted.
“There might have been a meteor shower. But beyond all this, the message contained the underlying sense of guilt and acceptance. It’s as if the message senders acknowledged that the end of their planet was their own fault.
And whatever it was, apparently, they had no means to evacuate the remaining population because interplanetary space travel was available to them but only at a very limited level. The message makes it very clear that they were trapped in their world,” said the doctor.
After this, Dr. Kulakov apparently disappeared from NASA, removed from it, and any trace linking him to the agency was erased.
It has only remained as a curious note, as an atypical testimony, the article published in the Weekly World News, a newspaper that not only disappeared but also published material labeled as paranormal, making its testimony not always credible and often disbelieved and completely ignored within scientific circles.
Still, there are people who believe that his testimony is true, and others simply turn to the sensationalism of the Weekly World News to discredit this possibility, although some people consider that, in the case that such a signal existed, it could have been a prank caused by some GPS satellite.
There are always those who believe that NASA has lied from the beginning and that it would not be surprising if this were another cover-up. In the end, everyone will draw their own conclusions… What do you think? Leave us your comment!
