A mother of eleven, Britni Church, who has been pregnant for nearly ten years, expresses her desire for more children despite the challenges of managing a large family that consumes 600 diapers a week.
Britni, now 31, became a mother at 16 and has since added ten more children to her family, including year-old triplets named Oliver, Asher, and Abel.
Living in a five-bedroom house in Kansas, Britni and her 28-year-old husband Chris face the financial demands of providing for their large family. They spend about $300 a week on groceries, which includes five boxes of cereal, 66 cartons of milk, and the aforementioned 600 diapers.
Despite the financial strain, Britni envisions having at least four more children, contingent on the approval of her existing children. She acknowledges the unexpected joy and companionship that a large family brings and states, “If any of the kids said, ‘you can’t have any more,’ I would accept that it’s too much.”
Britni’s journey began at the age of 16 when she gave birth to her first child, Crizman, with her then-husband. After the couple split in 2010, Britni, a single parent, unexpectedly became pregnant with her sixth child, Jesalyn, in 2012. In 2014, she met her current husband, Chris, and they welcomed several more children together, including surprise triplets in 2021.
Reflecting on her experiences, Britni expresses how the initial shame of having multiple children with different fathers dissipated when she saw the innocence and beauty of each new addition to her family. Despite the challenges, she cherishes the constant companionship that a large family provides, stating, “I love having a big family, there is always someone to talk to.”
