The mysteries surrounding UFOs have once again captured public attention in recent weeks, particularly following the revelation that the Pentagon has maintained a covert program for decades aimed at capturing and studying what they term ‘Unidentified Aerial Phenomena’ (UAP), commonly referred to as UFOs.
This disclosure came from a former US Intelligence official who raised concerns about the suppression of evidence related to UFO sightings.
The ensuing controversy has reached such heights that NASA is now poised to release a report on extraterrestrials, intending to provide comprehensive information on the subject.
Adding a layer of uncertainty to this already intriguing topic, Abraham Loeb, a highly regarded astronomer from Harvard University with regular collaborations with the White House, boldly states that UFOs have, indeed, visited Earth. “We are not alone,” he asserts.
Known as Avi, he has consistently argued for the existence of extraterrestrial civilizations, leading to numerous controversies. His most notable claim was suggesting that Oumuamua, an interstellar object passing through the Solar System in 2017, could be a drifting alien spacecraft rather than a comet.
According to Loeb, the peculiar object detected by a Hawaii telescope on October 19, 2017, might actually be the first extraterrestrial visit to our planet, with dimensions approximately that of a football field. “This is the initial observation we have from outer space within our awareness,” he emphasized shortly afterward.
“It didn’t resemble an ordinary rock; it was something more,” he reiterated on multiple occasions. This theory forms the basis of a book Loeb published in 2021, sparking interviews that left many intrigued.
In a statement to AFP, he asserted, “Thinking that we are unique, special, and privileged is arrogant,” firmly believing that “there are many other cultures out there, and we just have to find them.”
In a recent interview with XL Semanal, Loeb hinted at the possibility of two other unusual interstellar objects arriving before Oumuamua and disclosed his involvement in research to determine whether the artifacts are meteorites or remnants of spacecraft.
“Believing that we are alone in the universe seems highly improbable to me! It would be very peculiar if there were no other civilizations similar to ours.”
He concluded, “Most stars formed before the Sun. There has been ample time for other civilizations to flourish and also to fade away. It’s a matter of common sense.”
